I'm Jay, I'm gay, and I live in L.A. I'm a singer-songwriter and "homo-pop" artist -- singing about other guys, my exes mostly.
When I first picked up the guitar, I learned how to play by copying The Beatles. I was even in a "Beatles Band". In college I earned my daily bread by playing guitar, banjo, and mandolin in orchestras for the musicals being produced in the theater department, everything from Hello Dolly to Man of La Mancha to Jesus Christ Superstar. "Boy Howdy" was my debut CD, and I just got done recording album #2, "Playin' On My Team". My music video for I LIKE MIKE (think swing-dancing baseball players) is currently in heavy rotation on the LOGO station. But the biggest thrill of my Homosexual Pop-Star career came when Boy Howdy was nominated for "Outstanding Album of 2003" by OutMusic, the network of performers, producers, and others who support gay music. I traveled to New York City for the awards ceremony and had a great time meeting some pretty fab people. I'm single, and of course you know I'm only doin' this to meet guys. Send a face pic. I've played in Washington DC, Philadelphia, Dallas, Portland, Burlington Vermont, and Boston, and of course here in my home town of L.A. <<< That's me showin' my stuff in front of the Vermont state capitol in Montpelier, where the first gay domestic partnership legislation was signed. Is this a great country or what? So thanks for reading about me and I hope you'll give my brand of "homo-pop" a try! |
